Royals, Footy, Lifeboats and Stands.. it's all happening!

Here we go.. a right Royal Weekend mixed in with a little bit of football to boot. What more could anyone ask for!! No point in asking for wind at the moment (although the north Kent coast has been doing OK with the brisk Nor'east.. should be really good next weekend if the forecast is correct) and at last someone has explained to me why our mini heatwave which the forecasters have been harping on about has been so 'fresh'.. apparently and quite obviously it is referring to a mini-mal amount of heat! Thanks to Paul at Tushingham for putting me right as I was expecting to be at least warm.

Couple of things to mention before getting off home to enjoy a dry (not raining) Friday evening..  first up is the amount of money we have raised for Shoreham Lifeboat. We have tide tables printed every year and supply them FOC but if anyone wishes to make a donation to the RNLI or Paddle Round the Pier it is gratefully accepted. May 2017 to May 2018's figure is £350.46 which is a pretty good but a little shy off the £460.00 we raised a few years back (probably due to the awful summer we had last year as normally a lot of visitors to the area buy one for their stay.. no one came). Well done to everyone and I am sure it will be of help to the guys and girls that give up their time and risk their lives for us all.

Next is a rather interesting college project which was taken on by a long standing customers son. George Kaslik is his name and he decided to design and make a SUP display trolley for his project. He came along to the shop last year to chat it over and went away with a design brief that we felt would suit most shops needs (easy to move and able to fit through doors at the end of the day.. but won't blow off down the road!).
A week or so back George arrives with his folks and out of the van appears this rather incredible rack. I have to say that it is an impressive piece of engineering with exceptional detail and finish... not to mention the beautifully made wooden name plate which was a 'feature' we had not expected! George had really pulled out all of the stops and it met all of our 'needs' and more.
Please note.. The string was a temporary fitting and has since been uprated!
We hope to have the rack at the shop for people to see (and for us to use! ) once George has finished with it for his college presentations and open days.

I mentioned Ezzy clothing last week and thanks to those that placed orders. We have taken stock of Tees and Hats should anyone be needing extra clothing to keep warm or to shade their head from a still burning sun!

So, to the weather.. Saturday is destined to be sun sun sun as there is a bit of a do on in Windsor.. on the coast we have a light breeze from the South and temps are hitting 15°. Tide is high at 14.54hrs on a 6.2m.
Sunday you will either be happy or sad regarding the outcome of the FA Cup but at least you will be happy to know that the winds are going around to the East and staying pretty light.. with slight cloud and temps still around the 15° mark. Tides are high at 15.47hrs on a 5.9m

Have a great weekend and whether you love them or hate them, you have to hope that Harry, Meghan and everyone taking part including the well wishers have a great day.. well,  it's not his fault he was born posh! ;)

(Many thanks to Page Six for the happy couples picture)
