Quest Adventure Bike Shop has Closed.. a sad day.

Very sad to have just learnt that Quest Adventure Bikes in Worthing has closed. John Paul Saville (I think that's right..) better known to most as just 'JP' , has been involved with bikes in the Worthing area since the beginning of mountain biking back in the Eighties. I am sure many of you will remember the advent of off road biking becoming the no wind alternative and as a way to stay fit over the winter months... many who have long stopped the sailing are still out on their bikes! I think JP may well have brought the idea of 'selling bikes' to Lee Appleton who at that time was running Sussex Windsurfing on Goring Beach (the land where it was is now a 'development' next to Worthing Yacht Club) and later moved the business to become 'High Street' based in the town centre. JP also worked in the UK bike trade but someone else will have to fill in those details as we cannot remember!!

It is a sad thing when someone has such a solid background in a sport that he has loved for so many years can no longer manage to trade in a part of the country that is supposed to be 'doing well'... it makes you wonder who is 'doing well' as the high street shops seem to be closing at an alarming rate.
JP has written a couple of interesting pieces on his face book page regarding the reasons for the demise of Quest.. well worth a read if you have a moment. Keep an eye on his page as I am sure he will be 'back' very shortly with a more 'mobile style' of business. Sad days but hopefully to become a new dawning.. Good Luck JP!
