The Pubs Close.. new rules.. new harnesses and SUP board plus MOTHERS DAY!!

20 03 2020. It's Friday night and I've just heard that the Pubs and Cafe's have to close. That is not good news as it affects the income of two of my family but I guess we all know that it had to come and things must change if we have any hope of slowing the rate of Covid19 infections. Not sure how long we will have in the Retail sector but at the moment we will open as normal but sadly I don't think we can run the shop quite as normal.

As I mentioned earlier in a response to Bill Short (he has posted a Weekend Weather report that I will paste as a separate post in a mo) today we had large groups of people with children outside of the shop, just as an Easter Hols gathering. For us that is going to be a problem as if they all come into the shop and perform as the norm, i.e. 'hands' and coughs go everywhere, it will not be a safe place for us or for anyone else entering after. So I hate to say this, as it is the greatest way to cold sell, we cannot risk the 'just dropped into have a look' customers at the moment. That is SAD!
I think it also wise to ask if you are coming along, please come on your own and if you do have family with you, could they wait outside or in the car, for their own safety.
The pleasantries involved with purchasing New Kit is a wonderful thing but when we don't know whether we have anything that is passable (I don't think anyone knows how and when with this Virus) the shorter period we all spend with each other just seems to make sense to me at this present time.
OK.. onto our Weekend and we will make of it what we can.

Bill Short has mentioned the act of getting out on the water this weekend in his Weather Report (next post) so maybe everybody thinking of heading to Pevensey or Pagham for the Nor'East winds can get together on a Social Media platform (maybe take a look at Buccaneer Sessions which is fairly new App being developed locally by Toby Conibear in Brighton) or by 'phone'.. and sort out the guidelines for keeping distance etc. which makes sense. Being seen to act responsibly may help our beaches stay open throughout whatever hits us.

Kit wise it is all still coming through the door..
We have the New ION Radium 8 Windsurf harness in .. Semi hard backed with a medium to stiff flex. and it's fitted with their C-Spreader Bar which has an easy QR system and an EVA padded backing to add comfort and try and reduce 'rise'. Lovely piece of kit... £189.95.
There's also a very nice Kite Harness just in from Pro Limit.

The VECTOR is aimed at the Newcomer to Intermediate or budget conscious Kiter.. Pro Limit say ' a multifunctional moulded kite waist harness, 3D shaped with Hybrid technology. The outer skin is moulded and inside stitched with EVA pillow. The medium back support height allows more flexibility during extreme movement while the higher sidewall protects the ribs. The slide in spreader bar pad gives incredible bar stability and the QR to release the spreader is super easy but safe'.
That covers it... £139.95!

The Oshea I-Sup QSx boards are in.. they are a tough constructed board (but not super heavy) designed for the trials and more trials a family can through at it. They are 1000D PVC, with double rail lap – and Oshea rate them as the best for a hard wearing construction, better than most premium or high end boards! Available in three sizes to make it easy..
7'10" x 29" for kids or adults up to 50kg, 10'2" x 32" for most normal sized people and 10'6" x 33" for the Hulks or Hunks (can I say that??). All are 6" thick and come in a nice bag, fast action pump, 3 part paddle and a leash, plus repair kit.. everything you need in fact.
Pricing is £399.00 , £539.00 and £549.00.

I could go on and on as the shop is rammed but I need to go home, as life is 'quite stressful' at the mo (we have water coming into the shop through the ceiling.. counter has a nice selection of 'water catchers' on it.. a water feature.. quite apt for us!

So to the Tides (as Bills forecast to follow).
Saturday High is at 9.46hrs on a 5.3m
Mothers Day Sunday it's 10.28hrs on a 5.6m

Don't forget your Mum and even if they are locked down for their own good (like my dear Mum..) give them a call or as in my case, leave Flowers at the door!

Have a great weekend All, maybe the Winds will blow away our ills.
