Weekend Ahoy.. Wind.. Big tides and Big Moons!

Well, here we are again on a Friday night and the Weekend has arrived and although the forecasts were showing a cooler time with rain on Sunday it now looks to be dry and warm. There is a fair amount of wind if you can travel to a location that will take a Nor’ East side shore and things look good for river paddling, so all in all it could be a fun one!

Covid on the rise is all we hear at the moment and I think everyone has their fingers crossed that we do not go back into a Lock down situation, as we have all enjoyed a reasonably normal life during the summer months, thankfully! The shop is still operating as normally as we can make it, keeping everyone’s safety in mind including ours, so we are still having to operate with either just James or myself being there on our own, which does make it ‘hard work’  it can be difficult to keep up when there are two of us in there during busy periods, so please be patient if you are finding our replies to enquires or warranty claims slower than usual. I look forward to the day we can once again run the shop as it was prior to March the 23rd . Something to look forward to!

Kit is still in short supply for all of the sports but things are slowly improving with shipping from the majority of the suppliers. We now have only a few days delay before shipping whereas it was 7 days only a few weeks ago. Time scales are still difficult to predict when waiting for the New 2021 kit release dates but one customer (yes, You Gray!)  will be very glad to hear that his Duotone Unit Wings have been dispatched and will be with us next week (still hope that his Fanatic Mamba will be here shortly..  Nik is working on it :) .

Starboard have been running World Wide Zoom conferences to bring the Dealers up to speed on their 2021 ranges (James was at the shop at 8am to take part in one this morning). It could well be that these will be here to stay, as well as other changes to the way we work that we have all had to adjust to. However it was good to have Farrel Oshea arrive at the shop on Thursday morning to talk James through the Oshea SUP and Simmer kit for 2021. Face to face it always a more pleasant experience, in my opinion! Also great to see Rune Sorensen turn up at the shop.. a talented waterman who has left our shores and is once again working in 'the beach trade' in his native Denmark  (can't remember where the beach is but when I find out I will post it in case any of yho know  Rune are in his neck of the woods).

Ok, time for the weather for this weekend .

Saturday sees the morning start off with Nor’East 14 – 22kts and then a possible swing to East during the afternoon but dropping off to 12 – 16kts. It then reverts back to Nor’East for the evening. Pevensey Bay looks to be a popular choice but foils and kites may have a good afternoon at Shoreham. Tides are High 13.28hrs on a 6.8m Harvest Moon Biggy so SUP on the local rivers will be ‘good’.

Sunday the winds are Nor’East ranging between 11-20kts but could be more depending on which forecast you look at..  one to check on Sunday morning.

The Tide is High at 14.06hrs on a 6.75m.
