The first Friday of August and once again, it’s a Weekend of Wind ahead!

I really can’t believe that we are now well into the annual Hols and still we wait for a ‘beach day’ to occur. It has been a phenomenal time for those of you who adore ‘cool and windy’ summers but we do need a few days of sun and heat to get the people down to the beach, as that’s generally where we find new participants for our sports. Is it me or have the forecasters promising us a heatwave ‘next week’ for quite a few weeks now, but looking at next week, it is not looking hot to me. Dry would be nice but…

 

It's a Quick one tonight as already shattered after a very long day on this keyboard and finally selling a lovely Quatro Pyramid 96, that has been making the shop look pretty for ‘a while’. The new owner drove all the way from Romsey this morning to collect it and he was ‘ecstatic’ when he saw what his ‘cheeky offer’ had achieved. Very glad that the board will be out on the water tomorrow.. to Live again.. but sorry it did not do better Gavin! Times are challenging, that’s for sure and that is brought home hard when you see that a high street store such as Wilko is about ‘to go’. Maybe it’s also the High Street that is about to go…

Saturday, it is friggin wet and windy! We kick off the day with a strong Southerly wind,25kt gusting 35kt (not a good Alan day) which backs around to Sou’West mid-afternoon, before swinging to the West and then Nor’West during late afternoon / early evening. Windguru says wet from 9am though to 7pm but we will see (if I say it will rain it does not and if I say it won’t etc. etc.) . Temperature peak at an astounding.. 17°C! Tide is High at 14.57hrs on a 6.6m, so plenty of sand for dog walkers during the morning and lots of water in the estuary for the Wings in the afternoon. 

 

Sunday, it calms down to a dry  Nor’West wind 16-23kts, which could swing to a West during the afternoon, if we get a sea breeze effect, so don’t write that off as a no-go just yet. The tide will be in during the afternoon  but the shore break might not be too bad.. but maybe head West for the High, which is at 15.40hrs on a 6.4m. If it does not swing then Bracklesham / Witterings will be side shore or you could go Wing foiling at Seaford, as it is reported to be ‘good’ on that direction. SUP downwinders might also be something fun to do… I’m sure you will all think off something!
