Comments:
This is the board that replaced the Fanatic Tri Wave.. one of their best waveboards for South Coast conditions but also when you have a chance to head off to more down the line destinations. The Grip boards specifications change slightly depending upon their size. The 68lt is a High Wind board and they have supplied it with four fin boxes for Quad use (which makes sense). The three mid-range boards have a Quint box set up which allows the fin system to be changed to suit whatever the sailing conditions and the sailor requires (twinser, tr-fin or quad). The 99lt is a Tri-fin board which again makes sense as you would expect it to be used with bigger sails. It's also a lovely looking board in a gorgeous see through red! Fanatics write up as below...

The Grip is our new all-in-one wave weapon. The favourite board of World Champion Victor Fernandez, you’re going to love this red hot performance stick too. Set your Grip and rip!
PWA Wave World Champion Victor Fernandez sealed the deal in 2016 with the exact same shape of the new Grip under his feet. His impressive sailing in the Canary Islands, North Sea and Maui saw him deliver the goods in everything from onshore, to down-the-line conditions. Finely tuned over a period of over two years, the Grip has the planing power of our previous TriWave and turning capabilities beyond the 2017 Quad. Customise the amount of grip you want through your fins. The small 68 comes with a grippy and controlled Quad setup. The floaty 99 has a loose and early planing Thruster set. The 3 medium sizes are equipped with the adaptable 5 Box feature, giving you the freedom to setup your Grip however you like. From back to front foot riding, intermediate to World Champ level, the carefree and intuitive Grip is designed to follow your lead.

GRIP VS. STUBBY

Compared to the Stubby, the Grip has a more classic looking outline of a modern performance wave shape. While the Stubby rides a little more back-footed on the very wide tail, offering heaps of guidance and stability through the parallel rails, the tail of the Grip is drawn in, which allows to dig deep into the pocket of the wave. The ride on the Grip is more reactive and sporty, with a higher degree of torque. This opens up endless possibilities once the quality of conditions and your level increases. That said, its adaptability, ease of use and planing power also cater to intermediate wave sailors and less than ideal conditions.

TRIWAVE 2013

KLAAS VOGET (G-4), FANATIC R&D AND TOP PWA RIDER:
“The TriWave has blown us away. I can snap tight turns in the pocket like a twin fin – but with the speed and control of a single fin in sketchier situations. What’s so insane about them is the quad-like grip and drive you get when they’re pushed a little bit harder. I think they’ll open the eyes of a lot of classic style sailors to a wider variety of riding angles and turns”

Our newest addition came with massive challenge for the R&D team – better the proven twin and single fin ranges for a board to work at any spot in the world. Starting with our renowned fast-planing rocker line we gained the pace and pointing of single fin yet discovered the grip, drive and tighter turn radius of a multifin. A medium length pintail outline delivers enough rail for classic, drawn-out turns and is compact enough to snap tight turns in the pocket too. The result of the magic is masterful. Speedy, smooth carving rails bite perfectly for maximum control.

The double concave bottom and optimum tail release leave a crisp, direct-feeling board perfect for either slashy or full-railed riding and excellent jumping lift and release. Choose either a 3 fin cluster developed exclusively by world-renowned Maui Fin Company or fit the SlotBox cover supplied to ride in singlefin mode. Available in 72, 79, 86 and 93 litre sizes in super-stiff, light and impact resistant Innegra Carbon Light Team Edition (TE) construction with Carbon Innegra deck and PVC sandwich bottom.
