RRD Firemove 112 Ltd 2014 and RRD Firewave 102 Ltd 2014

Rob Moss is a very experienced windsurfer who has as much on water knowledge of kit as anybody we know . These are his first thoughts on the Firemove and Firewave, and we hope to have more from Rob when he has had a little more time to tinker with the set up.
Please Note! Rob is quite happy to let potential buyers have a go on his RRD boards (he is to the East of us, so sails Seaford, Eastbourne, Pevensey, Cooden, Bexhill, Camber etc.). If you are interested in trying a Firemove 112 or Firewave 102 (and poss a 92..) please call us and we will put you in touch with him.

Hi Guys.

Tried both boards yesterday and really happy with them.

The Firemove was excellent, better than the gecko and felt small under foot. I tried it at 10.00 yesterday with the 6.1 before the wind arrived.

The Firewave was also good and again felt smaller underfoot than the volume suggests. Jumped very well and I could be pretty aggressive through the turns,  but you can feel the volume in the tail and found I had to apply more back foot to stop catching the rail.

I only sailed with my 5.3 as I had to leave the beach at 12.30 due to family commitments.

Considering  an 82 Firewave but might be a bit small for big old me ! Maybe I should try the 92 out as I was sailing the 102 on 4.2 the other day. Didn’t even bother getting my Moo custom wave out, just stayed on the Firewave. Yep it felt a tad big on the wave, but nothing like it should of, felt small and certainly didn’t over power or get slappy in anyway. On the outside gybe it may have felt a bit frantic, but you’d get that on a smaller board too. Quite impressive really.
